Governor of Poker is a Texas Hold’em with a story line, which adds a nice touch to it. You play a poker player, which rides from town to town, and tries to win all the houses and establishments in that town – all with the winnings of poker games.

As you progress, the stakes get higher and the opponents are tougher. You acn play tournament games or cash poker games. If you run out of money – you can sell some of the houses, and try to win them back later on. Once you but an entire town, you can move on to the next. Sometimes you might need to beat a “boss” – one on one cash game with the best player in town – in order to move on.

Fast poker players might get a bit frustrated, because the pace of the game is not amazing – even when you set it to X2. Other than that – it’s a lovely game and it might take you a while to claim all the towns.
